What happens when my computer gets a health check?
- Cooling systems checked, fans examined for wear, heat sink examined for dust and pet hair.
- Component operating temperatures checked.
- Operating system performance
- Visual check of motherboard for capacitor problems
What happens after a health check?
We will advise of any work required to improve the life span of components, operating system issues, and performance improvement options.
What happens during a service?
- Cleaning and lubricating of cooling system fans and heat sink
- Hardware diagnostics, CPU and Motherboard
- Check and removal of virus, update of virus software (or installation of software if non installed)
- Check and removal of spyware, installation of anti spyware software
- Operating system file check, repair or replace missing and corrupt files
- Web browser check, and update
- Third party software checked and updated where required
- Operating system updates applied
- Hard drive maintenance, read & write performance, recovery of bad sectors, operating temperature within tolerance
- Memory performance tests
- Power supply tested
- Installation of advisory hardware/software
- Backup image taken for fast restore
How often should my computer be serviced?
We recommend that a computer should be serviced between every 6-12 months depending on the amount of use and environment. A service will reduce the chance of a system crashes, or component failure and data loss but does not guarantee against it.
